Target just announced it's offering same day delivery for $9.99 per order, shares today's New York Post.
Companies are scrambling to speed up delivery to compete with Amazon even if this means smaller margins. They would rather make less than let Amazon get the sale.
Wedding registry gifts are starting to include: Venmo. That's right, guests are starting to simply Venmo their 'gifts' to newlyweds, reports today's New York Post.
While at first glance this bypasses traditional gift giving routes like a store's gift registry, there is a silver lining. Your store can accept Venmo. Encourage brides to buy goods from you via Venmo. This adds a step, but the bride getting a nice gift (and the money getting to your store) is all that counts.
As you likely have read in the New York Times or the Wall St. Journal, social media companies are under fire. Users are abandoning social media companies such as Facebook, Twitter, and Snap as if they were a ship on fire that has run aground. In the New York Times graphic, it depicts social media as a boat on fire--with a user escaping by row boat.
Cross Promoting Tableware Brands with Food and Beverage Brands
This article below from the New York Post shares that Facebook is looking to promote music to its customer base. Why? Facebook, like MySpace, knows that people that use its service are young and probably listen to and buy a lot of music. Facebook is anticipating a customer desire, and trying to offer one more way to satisfy him or her-and make money in the process.

Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving that is the online equivalent of Black Friday, is discussed in today's NY Post and New York Times (links to both are below). Just as online sales will rise in other industries, this day/week should be give our industry a bump.
